Skye O'Malley [07 Jan 2006|10:28am]

Okay I own a lot of Bertrice Small's books, but I haven't read them all yet. I just keep buying and buying and never had the time to read... so I am starting again with Skye and her series.

All I can say is this lady has had one hell of a life so far and considering there are more books in the series... what more could one woman deal with?

Did you like this book? What was your favourite part of the book? Which of the men in her life in this book did you like best?

I enjoyed the book immensely. My favourite part is the chapters in which she had lost her memory and became Khalid's wife. And the men I liked most were Khalid and Geoffrey.

Post any comments on this book here... thanks.

Has anyone read the new book by Lady Small?  The Last Heiress??? I just got it last week and finished it.

Any thoughts on the book?

What books have you been reading lately? Anything good? Anything to recommend?

Just interested in seeing if it's worth reading.

Thanks :)

The Spitfire [07 Jul 2005|12:00pm]

I read this book a while ago, and loved it, especially the brief appearance of a certain Leslie family. But,At times, Arabella annoyed me so much, although not as much towards the end. Anyone elses thoughts? loved the book? Hated it? Thoughts?

Okay, I still have a few books that didn't sell on eBay. Anyone wanna trade? Here's what I got:

Darling Jasmine
The Dragon Lord's Daughters

Here's what I haven't read yet...

The Spitfire
Private Pleasures

No selling here, unless you have what I want, and don't need what I got, and then if it's a really good price, I may buy. I was thinking more of you ship, I ship, no payment other than that. :)

C'mon, ladies, this community has been idle too long!

Hello everyone. i've been a bad moderator, not posting here as much as i'd hoped to in the beginning. Well, i do have a reason for posting. A couple actually. 1) When's the next book in the Friarsgate series coming out?2) has anyone read Lara, the newest Bertrice Small yet? i was under the impression it was a bit different from her usual stuff.

Also, i'm selling or will be selling a few of my extra copies of Ms. Small's books on ebay.  Also will be selling some Kathleen E.Woodiwiss if anyone's interested? heres the link to my Bertrice Small,

I thought by posting the link here, someone who maybe doesn't have copies of her books could at least get a few.

The Kadin [04 Jun 2005|06:58pm]

[ mood | cheerful ]

Hello! I just finished reading The Kadin (find my review at historcl_romnce), and I really enjoyed it! I was surprised at how honestly flawed the characters were. Most importantly, I was was impressed that it didn't fall in to the usual trap of monogomitus [the unfortunate romance-novel afflictions which strikes down apparently healthy Eastern shahs and sultans with Western ideology.] ^_^

I think another reason that I was so surprised by this book is my (limited) background in Bertrice's novels. The only other one of her books that I have read is The Innocent, which is on a whole different playing field, in terms of intimacy and romance. That book is a guilty pleasure of mine, and I rather expected that The Kadin would be just as raunchy, if not more so.

A Moment In Time [05 Apr 2005|09:39pm]

This has to be my all time favourite book. I love fantasy, reincarnation, faeries, fate, destiny, etc.

What are your thoughts on this one?

I am re-reading it for the millionth time. I might post more as I read more of it.
I also love some of the names in this book. Hmmm... some might make nice names for kids or middle names for kids. *tee hee*

Beseiged [30 Oct 2004|11:20pm]

I'm almost done with Small's book Beseiged, and it is amazing! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better and she couldn't add another plot twist, she does it. I really hope she plans to write a sequel to it!!!

New Books.. [20 Oct 2004|03:14pm]

I recently bought the new Friarsgate novel called Phillipa.. it's amazing!! Wonderful book.
I also bought the new Private Pleasures, which is a new contemporary novel she did. I haven't started it yet, but will soon. Got around to buying the anthologies as well, which were great. I am only missing I Love Rogues. She has a bunch of new ones coming out next year as well :) Can't wait!!

Hello [24 Sep 2004|12:37am]

I read the Skye O'Mally books and the Jasmine ones in High School... I still have quite a fondness for them. I think my favorite was the first one. It was also the hardest to find. Is that odd or was it just me?

Anyway, it's nice to be here.

Oh, and while I'm here... please forgive the advertisement, but I've recently started a community for another great Romance series that I love, the Angelique series by Sergeanne Golon. If anyone's interested it's monteloup

What is it about they beautiful and frequently ravished women that thrill us so?

Skye.. [22 May 2004|11:44am]

I just re-read Skye O'Malley yesterday. I've always loved that series of books, and the first is my favorite of all of them.

Which of the O'Malley series is your fave and why?
